El Durancho is our life's long game: Five old farmhouses and two corrals restored, 300 cattle stabilized, miles of fence rebuilt, springs and waterfalls protected. Over three decades, this ranch will become a place for self-discovery, exploration, work and refuge for underprivileged kids and refugees, and, one day, a retirement community for friends and family.
We don't measure progress in quarters, we measure it in decades. Here's the roadmap we're building toward, one fence post and one human story at a time.
Stabilize the ranch. Restore the original homes, rebuild the high and lower corrals, mend nearly 14 miles of fencing, and care for a herd of ~300 cattle. Plat hundreds of trees every year.
Once the basic infrastructure is complete, El Durancho becomes a classroom. We'll host year-round master classes on relationship, craftsmanship, art and inner work - built around real life, not conference rooms.
We'll move into the interior of the property to build eco-friendly day-use and overnight camps. Small, intentional spaces for people to unplug, ride, hike to waterfalls and reset.
Everything before this point is preparation. We'll use the ranch to create employment, education, and a safe place for underprivileged children and refugees from across Central America - combing work, mentorship and dignity.
In the latter half of our 30 year plan, El Durancho will become a 'Plan B' retirement community for friends and family. A space to age with purpose, surrounded by land, animals, and people we love.

First Project: There are five old farmhouses that are in need of complete renovations. The first two were completed in 2024 and the 3rd in March of 2025.

Second Project: We're completely renovating both the high and lower corrals. These projects are nearly complete as of Summer 2024.

Third Project: With nearly 14 miles of fencing, we are constantly mending fences.
